Eid ul Adha is celebrated in the remembrance of the event of the obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (Abraham) when he bowed to the Command of ALLAH SWT and willing presented his son for sacrifice. It was a test from Allah and at the time of sacrifice, the Prophet’s son with a lamb with the Divine’s intervention.

Since then, ALLAH SWT made it mandatory for all the Muslims who can afford to sacrifice a four-legged halal animal every year on this day and distribute its meat amongst the needy.

Buy your animal and coordinate with the slaughterhouse for the slaughter, cleaning and distribution of meat. Every individual or household that can afford should sacrifice a four-legged animal (sheep, a cow, a goat, or a camel) on the eve of Eid al-Adha.

Remember! The animal should be healthy and should be sacrificed as per the Islamic teachings for slaughter.

  • Make Preparation for the Eid Prayers Congregation with Social Distancing Measure

Eid prayer is one of the highlights of the Eid day. However, due to the Covid-19, the mosques in the UK are not yet open for prayer congregations. Nonetheless, you may plan to offer Eid prayer at home with your family members, of course with necessary precautionary measures, which include having a separate prayer mat for everyone. Doctors suggest that just like your personal towels, combs, clothes and brushes, you should have your own prayer mat.

Decide the menu, delegate responsibilities, and share the workload instead of dumping everything on the mom. Rather, let mom take a day off and share her responsibilities amongst yourself, including the men in this.
